Tunisian Crochet

Some time ago I purchased a Tunisian crochet hook set and a book of patterns. It looked interesting so I figured why not give it a try. Tunisian crochet is like a cross between crochet and knitting. It's like knitting with one needle, but you use the hook and make motions and stitches similar to crochet. Kinda weird and I'm not sure I did a good job describing it.

Anyway, I gave it a try using the most basic stitch and it's pretty cool and fast. I don't think I'd use it to make a full sized blanket or afghan, but it'll make some nice looking scarves or baby blankets. So, my first project is a baby blanket for my friends grand daughter. Yes, I'll be giving away my first effort. But why not? I do it for the fun. Plus, I made myself an afghan blanket that I use all the time. It's in my living room on the sofa and it comes in handy. How many blankets does a gal need? I plan to make one for my mom for Christmas. Hopefully I'll get it done in time. And before you ask, no, I'm not spoiling the surprise. If my mom was on the internet to read this posting, I'd be AMAZED :) She's not into the whole PC/internet craze!

I'll try to post a picture when I am done.
